Medveščak Zagreb may have lost the game, but the war against cancer won another battle. Doug Shedden’s team pulled a sponsor based cancer fundraiser with a PR goal set in stone. After pink laces, Movember moustaches and bald heads, it was time to pull out the pink jerseys.
“It felt good to play in pink and join in on the battle against cancer” said Patrick Bjorkstrand, while Aaron Palushaj added: “We wore pink for charity and it was exciting to wear it. Thanks for the fans for the support, you can’t ask to play in better atmosphere”
Despite a 5:2 loss, Medveščak looked great in pink, and the story about the battle against cancer was the most important part of the game. See for yourself how Palushaj, Trotter, Wright and many more former North American players looked in pink through the lens of our photographers Krume Ivanovski and Davor Sajko!
